Saudi Arabia
   Sunni Islam is the only legally recognized religion in Saudi Arabia. Attempts by Protestants, primarily Samuel M. Zwemer (1867-1952), to evangelize the Arabian Peninsula in the late 19th century met with little success. Today, Christian services are limited to expatriates and must be held completely in private.
   There are several congregations in Dhahran, but most Christians meet in house churches. Anglicans are served by the Episcopal Church of Jerusalem and the Middle East. other groups with members in Saudi Arabia include the Churches of Christ and the Christian Brethren. Protestant expatriates come not only from Western Europe and North America, but also from other Arab lands, India, and Korea.
